How to manually remove SearchGuard

To get rid of spyware such as SearchGuard you need to remove processes, search and delete registry keys, DLL and other SearchGuard related files from your computer.

1. Uninstall SearchGuard from Control Panel
   Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Double click to uninstall.
2. End these SearchGuard processes:
   searchguardu.exe
   searchguardbk.exe
   searchguard[1].exe
   uninst_searchguard[1].exe
   searchguardu[1].exe
   searchguardbk[1].exe
   uninst_searchguard.exe
   searchguard.exe
   To stop processes press Ctrl + Alt + Del or click Start > Run > type "taskmgr". Select malicious process in the list and click "End Process" button.
3. Unregister SearchGuard DLL files:
   searchguardd.dll
   To unregister DLL click Start > Run > type "regsvr32 /u PATH_TO_FILE/FILE.dll"
4. Delete SearchGuard registry entries: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\searchguard_searchguard
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\searchguard
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\searchguard
   To open registry editor click Start > Run > type "regedit".
   Warning! Manual registry entries editing may cause damage to your system.
   Download Uniblue RegistryBooster 2010 to scan for registry errors.
5. Search and delete these SearchGuard related files:
   C:\Program Files\searchguard
   C:\Program Files\searchguard\searchguard.exe
   C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Desktop\searchguardsetup.exe
   C:\WINDOWS\system32\uninst_searchguard.exe
   C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\18GY3K5D\searchguardbk[1].exe
   C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\18GY3K5D\searchguardu[1].exe
   C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\ISF6HJK1\uninst_searchguard[1].exe
   C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\VAD23EEL\searchguard[1].exe
   C:\Program Files\searchguard\searchguardbk.exe
   C:\Program Files\searchguard\searchguardd.dll
   C:\Program Files\searchguard\searchguarddata
   C:\Program Files\searchguard\searchguardu.exe
   
6. Block SearchGuard malicious domains:
   www.searchguard.co.kr
