How to manually remove ProtectShield

To get rid of spyware such as ProtectShield you need to remove processes, search and delete registry keys, DLL and other ProtectShield related files from your computer.

1. Uninstall ProtectShield from Control Panel
   Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Double click to uninstall.
2. End these ProtectShield processes:
   uninstall.exe
   ProtectShield.exe
   To stop processes press Ctrl + Alt + Del or click Start > Run > type "taskmgr". Select malicious process in the list and click "End Process" button.
3. Delete ProtectShield registry entries: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ProtectShield
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ProtectShield
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "ProtectShield"
   To open registry editor click Start > Run > type "regedit".
   Warning! Manual registry entries editing may cause damage to your system.
   Download Uniblue RegistryBooster 2010 to scan for registry errors.
4. Search and delete these ProtectShield related files:
   c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\ProtectShield.lnk
   c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\ProtectShield\
   c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\ProtectShield\1 ProtectShield.lnk
   c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\ProtectShield\2 Homepage.lnk
   c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\ProtectShield\3 Uninstall.lnk
   c:\Program Files\ProtectShield\
   c:\Program Files\ProtectShield\license.txt
   c:\Program Files\ProtectShield\ProtectShield.exe
   c:\Program Files\ProtectShield\uninstall.exe
