How to manually remove Hardclean

  1. Uninstall Hardclean from Control Panel
    Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Double click to uninstall.
  2. End these Hardclean processes:
    uninst_hardclean.exe
    hardcleanU.exe
    hardcleandm.exe
    hardcleanBK.exe
    hardclean.exe

    To stop processes press Ctrl + Alt + Del or click Start > Run > type "taskmgr". Select malicious process in the list and click "End Process" button.
  3. Delete Hardclean registry entries: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\hardclean
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\hardclean

    To open registry editor click Start > Run > type "regedit".

  4. Search and delete these Hardclean related files:
    C:\Program Files\HardClean\bottomAd.swf
    C:\Program Files\HardClean\hardclean.exe
    C:\Program Files\HardClean\hardcleanBK.exe
    C:\Program Files\HardClean\hardcleandm.exe
    C:\Program Files\HardClean\hardcleanU.exe
    C:\Program Files\HardClean\mdata.dat
    C:\Program Files\HardClean\trackingsitedata
    C:\Program Files\HardClean\ubdata
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\uninst_hardclean.exe
