How to manually remove DataProtect

To get rid of spyware such as DataProtect you need to remove processes, search and delete registry keys, DLL and other DataProtect related files from your computer.

1. Uninstall DataProtect from Control Panel
   Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Double click to uninstall.
2. End these DataProtect processes:
   DataProtect2010.exe
   DataProtect.exe
   DataProtectcfg.exe
   DataProtectMon.exe
   uninst.exe
   To stop processes press Ctrl + Alt + Del or click Start > Run > type "taskmgr". Select malicious process in the list and click "End Process" button.
3. Delete DataProtect registry entries: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\dataprotect
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DataProtect
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DataProtectPartner
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\dataprotect
   To open registry editor click Start > Run > type "regedit".
   Warning! Manual registry entries editing may cause damage to your system.
   Download Uniblue RegistryBooster 2010 to scan for registry errors.
4. Search and delete these DataProtect related files:
   C:\Program Files\DataProtect\uninst.exe
   C:\Program Files\DataProtect\DataProtectMon.exe
   C:\Program Files\DataProtect\DataProtectcfg.exe
   C:\Program Files\DataProtect\DataProtect.exe
   C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Desktop\DataProtect2010.exe
   
5. Block DataProtect malicious domains:
   dataprotect.co.kr
