How to manually remove BootCare

To get rid of spyware such as BootCare you need to remove processes, search and delete registry keys, DLL and other BootCare related files from your computer.

  1. Uninstall BootCare from Control Panel
    Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Double click to uninstall.
  2. End these BootCare processes:
    bootcareU.exe
    bootcareBK.exe
    bootcareU[1].exe
    bootcaredm[1].exe
    bootcare[1].exe
    bootcareBK[1].exe
    uninst_bootcare[1].exe
    uninst_bootcare.exe
    bootcaredm.exe
    bootcare.exe

    To stop processes press Ctrl + Alt + Del or click Start > Run > type "taskmgr". Select malicious process in the list and click "End Process" button.
  3. Delete BootCare registry entries: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\bootcare
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\bootcare

    To open registry editor click Start > Run > type "regedit".
    Warning! Manual registry entries editing may cause damage to your system.
    Download Uniblue RegistryBooster 2010 to scan for registry errors.
  4. Search and delete these BootCare related files:
    C:\Program Files\bootcare\bootcare.exe
    C:\Program Files\bootcare\bootcaredm.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\uninst_bootcare.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\ISXPLGEB\uninst_bootcare[1].exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\O92WEW06\bootcareBK[1].exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\Q5PIP6JW\bootcare[1].exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\Y3PH3C5T\bootcaredm[1].exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\Y3PH3C5T\bootcareU[1].exe
    C:\Program Files\bootcare\bootcareBK.exe
    C:\Program Files\bootcare\bootcaresitedata
    C:\Program Files\bootcare\bootcareU.exe
    C:\Program Files\bootcare\bootcareubdata
    C:\Program Files\bootcare\mdata.dat

  5. Block BootCare malicious domains:
    www.bootcare.co.kr
