How to remove AV Security Suite
AV Security Suite description
AV Security Suite is a rogue anti-spyware application which is also a clone of Antivirus Soft and Antispyware Soft bogus systems. As other fake security programs AV Security Suite promoted and installed through the use of trojans.
Once active, malware starts to scan user’s PC and displays rogue results. They usually state that computer is at high security risk and has to be healed from the viruses. In fact, this is not true because there are no real threats. All displayed warning messages are fabricated by AV Security Suite program. You can ignore it because this is a scam. How do I delete this from my computer if, 1) it will not allow me to open any program – it gives me a false message that the program is infected and it can’t be run; 2) it will not allow me to open Task Manager (control-alt-delete) or Add/Remove programs (from the Control Panel) – it simply doesn’t run the program, but it doesn’t give me an error message; and 3) it will not allow me to access any website other than “AV Security Software” – it also keeps accessing www. porno .org, WITH PICTURES!! — it tells me that access to this website is denied because it is a front for a malicious virus (hahaha-bet that joker just wets himself laughing so hard about that)? I thought I found something that told me to start up my computer in Safe Mode, but I cannot find those directions again. Anyway, they included going into my registry, which I am not comfortable doing. Should I just bring in the Geek Squad??

Ruth,
to start your computer in safe mode just pres F8 while starting your computer and select Safe Mode w/ Networking. To get rid of this you need to access Task Manager and kill malicious processes e.g. av.exe

my computer has had this virus several times and apparently also corrupts files as well as being a total nuisance… so I am slightly hesitant to download something that may be another virus… any help?

I am a novice at this stuff and this is the worst problem I have encounterd to date.My PC is running Windows Vista and what I did was upon restart I hit F11 key and chose the Recovery Manager option and followed prompts. This allowed me to choose a Restore Point previous to when my PC was infected.Upon completion all seems to be well as I am able to access Internet again and those annoying AV Security Suite messages are gone.Hope this is a real fix and helps someone else!

Spyware Doctor (pctools) worked in June but July 1, 2010 infection has not been resolved.
Malware author has become criminal and should be neutralized.

follow up to July 6th – July 7, 2010 Spyware Docor deleted infected file, “ernel32.dll” and other malware created files. July 2nd, AV S S, malware author had penetrated Windows Firewall, Clamwin antivirus, and Spyware Doctor while I was browsing for router information. Infection had interupted internet access, this prevented updates. July 6th, I removed proxy entry, which allowed updates. Update was received and attack ,apparently, has been resolved. The malware author has become criminal.
