AntiVir64 is a rogue antispyware software, a clone of SpyShredder. AntiVir64 is installed from scanner.antivir64.com with affiliate id 1050 (scanner.antivir64.com/?aff=xxxx). Users are redirected from legitimated but hacked websites. A fake scanner will appear that pretends to be scanning for infections. When scanner has finished it will show fake report that you have spyware onto your computer and will suggest rogue antispyware for removal.

How to manually remove AntiVir64

  1. Uninstall AntiVir64 from Control Panel
    Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Double click to uninstall.
  2. End these AntiVir64 processes:
    Antvrs.exe
    Antivir64.exe

    To stop processes press Ctrl + Alt + Del or click Start > Run > type "taskmgr". Select malicious process in the list and click "End Process" button.
  3. Unregister AntiVir64 DLL files:
    %ProgramFiles%\\[RANDOM NAME]\\MFC71.dll
    %ProgramFiles%\\[RANDOM NAME]\\MFC71ENU.DLL
    %ProgramFiles%\\[RANDOM NAME]\\msvcp71.dll
    %ProgramFiles%\\[RANDOM NAME]\\msvcr71.dll
    %ProgramFiles%\\[RANDOM NAME]\\shlwapi.dll
    %ProgramFiles%\\[RANDOM NAME]\\wininet.dll

    To unregister DLL click Start > Run > type "regsvr32 /u PATH_TO_FILE/FILE.dll"
  4. Delete AntiVir64 registry entries: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Antivir64
    HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    c:\program files\antivir64\antivir64.exe

    To open registry editor click Start > Run > type "regedit".

  5. Search and delete these AntiVir64 related files:
    Antivir64.exe

    Help.url

    Start Antivir64.lnk
    Support Page.lnk
    Antivir64.ini
    base.dat
    base2.dat
    Desc.dat
    spline.dat
