How to manually remove ProtectDefender

To get rid of spyware such as ProtectDefender you need to remove processes, search and delete registry keys, DLL and other ProtectDefender related files from your computer.

1. Uninstall ProtectDefender from Control Panel
   Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Double click to uninstall.
2. End these ProtectDefender processes:
   ProtectDefender.exe
   To stop processes press Ctrl + Alt + Del or click Start > Run > type "taskmgr". Select malicious process in the list and click "End Process" button.
3. Unregister ProtectDefender DLL files:
   10492zacktool650.dll
   To unregister DLL click Start > Run > type "regsvr32 /u PATH_TO_FILE/FILE.dll"
4. Delete ProtectDefender registry entries: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ProtectDefender
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ProtectDefender
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ProtectDefender
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "ProtectDefender"
   To open registry editor click Start > Run > type "regedit".
   Warning! Manual registry entries editing may cause damage to your system.
   Download Uniblue RegistryBooster 2010 to scan for registry errors.
5. Search and delete these ProtectDefender related files:
   %UserProfile%\Desktop\ProtectDefender.lnk
   %UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\ProtectDefender.lnk
   c:\Program Files\ProtectDefender Software
   c:\Program Files\ProtectDefender Software\ProtectDefender
   c:\Program Files\ProtectDefender Software\ProtectDefender\ProtectDefender.exe
   c:\Program Files\ProtectDefender Software\ProtectDefender\Uninstall.exe
   c:\WINDOWS\10492zacktool650.dll
   c:\WINDOWS\1059zwo5m236.ocx
   c:\WINDOWS\10980haczt9ol3e5.bin
   c:\WINDOWS\system32\3328downlo5dez11979.bin
   c:\WINDOWS\system32\339zbackdoor1975.bin
   c:\WINDOWS\system32\3499zir5s6ef.ocx
   
6. Block ProtectDefender malicious domains:
   protectdefender.com
